9 Yard Ceramic

A graduate of the National College of Art and Deisgn in Dublin, Luke O’Callaghan works from the studio he built in the backyard of his house in Dublin which is number 9, hence the name 9 Yard Cermics. Drawn to simple shapes and practical design his focus is on showcasing the integral beauty of the raw material used, in this case stoneware clay. Luke takes gerat satisfaction from making functional pieces, knowing that they wil be utilised on a day after day.

Our Story

Clare Grennan and Laura Caffrey established Irish Design Shop in 2008. A love of Irish craft and good design led these two jewellers to set up a retail space which offered customers both. Irish craft was witnessing a revival at this time, with a new breed of Irish designer/maker producing exciting, design-led products which embraced traditional and new techniques.
