Áras
A large, heavy-duty cotton shopping bag, screen-printed with our newly rebranded Áras artwork, designed by Shane O'Driscoll.
We wanted to add a hard-wearing tote bag to our Áras collection, to be used every day, whether it's for picking up a few groceries or carrying your towel and hot drinks to the seaside for a swim.
The bag itself is made from 100% fairtrade cotton and is screen-printed in Dublin. It measures about 38cm square when flat and had a generous 14cm gusset, with 25cm long handles that will fit over your shoulder.
Shane has given our Áras brand a fresh identity, which also features on our handbound notebooks and is reflected in an original, limited edition A3 letterpress print.

Our Story
Clare Grennan and Laura Caffrey established Irish Design Shop in 2008. A love of Irish craft and good design led these two jewellers to set up a retail space which offered customers both. Irish craft was witnessing a revival at this time, with a new breed of Irish designer/maker producing exciting, design-led products which embraced traditional and new techniques.
