Muriel Bangle
Bangles

The Muriel bangle is the perfect combination of wearability and statement piece. The two handmade silver forms, one a hollow circle and the other a solid semi-circle, move freely on the bangle which is formed in 2mm round silver wire. Satisfyingly weighty, the Muriel bangle is incredibly tactile.
Names Jewellery began as a side project for the founders of Irish Design Shop; Clare and Laura. It has grown to be an integral part of the business, branching into an independent studio space on neighboring Exchequer Street. Each piece of jewellery, crafted by hand, is named after a woman who inspires Clare and Laura, be they family members, disrupters, or fellow makers. Muriel Gahan was an avid supporter and promoter of Irish craftswomen from the 1930's to 1990's.
The inside diameter of the small bangle is 65mm. The inside diameter of the medium bangle is 68mm. The inside diameter of the large bangle is 70mm.
The solid silver round piece measures 10mm in diameter. The hollow semi-circular piece measures 20mm x 10mm. This bangle is made in sterling silver.

Our Story
Clare Grennan and Laura Caffrey established Irish Design Shop in 2008. A love of Irish craft and good design led these two jewellers to set up a retail space which offered customers both. Irish craft was witnessing a revival at this time, with a new breed of Irish designer/maker producing exciting, design-led products which embraced traditional and new techniques.
