Terracotta Serving Bowl
Helen Faulkner

A generously sized shallow dish that would be perfect for serving up a shared family meal or as a fruit bowl in the kitchen everyday.
Hand-thrown in terracotta clay in Belfast, Helen has chosen a beautiful, smooth, turquoise glaze that contrasts with the exposed dark clay perfectly. The overall shape is a delight to serve any dish in, with the lines and curves as evidence that each piece is made by hand.
Dimensions and Care:
This large dish measures approx. 5.5cm tall and 23cm in diameter. It is safe to use in the oven and dishwasher but not recommended for the microwave as the terracotta clay heats up very quickly.

Sustainability:
Helen Faulkner produces pottery from clay derived from plentiful minerals occurring in the earth, as well as glazes that Helen makes herself, with the intention for her ceramics to last for years to come. In its raw state, the clay can be recycled many times before being fired in her well insulated, therefore very efficient kiln. Ceramics require a lot of care in terms of packaging but Helen, like many of our other ceramicists, uses recyclable or repurposed materials to protect the work in transit. Lastly, Helen’s Belfast studio is within walking distance of her home which allows for a carbon free journey to and from work!
