Castile Soap is an age-old, multi-purpose soap that uses just a few ingredients to make a pure hard soap bar that gets better as it ages. If you, like most of us, are trying to reduce your plastic use, it is said to be the best natural and earth-friendly soap as it is packaging-free, 100% biodegradable as well as having multiple uses.
Not only can you use it as a body wash, but you can also use it on the floor, on your clothes, and even on your plants.
Slice a small slice off and add it to a spray bottle filled with water for a general-purpose household cleaner. Use as a substitute for dish soap by rubbing your cloth or brush directly onto the soap and then your dishes, before rinsing. Grate it to make laundry powder, and rub directly onto stains for a spot cleaner.
Made in the traditional cold process method, by Kirsten in Co. Tipperary, it is mixed and left to cure for over 6 weeks. Palm oil-free, vegan, and zero waste.
Ingredients: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Water, Lye, Salt.
Each block weighs approx. 300g and measures around 6-7cm squared
To prolong the life of your soap and keep it firm, keep it dry in between use and always stand on a soap dish, rack, or propped up on pebbles in a container. This soap has been photographed with our heavy-duty kitchen tea-towel which is available here.
