A pair of perfectly formed square studs which remain lightweight without compromising on impact. Extremely comfortable, they are ideal for everyday wear. The polished sides reflect light beautifully and compliment the matte finish of the overall form. Handmade in sterling silver, the Nancy earrings are also available in hard wearing, 18ct yellow gold plating.
The focus on homespun fabrics in The Country Shop led to the establishment of the Irish Homespun Society. Muriel promoted the work of the isolated spinners and weavers like Nancy Ferry. In 1936, Nancy traveled from Dunlewey Co. Donegal to demonstrate spinning on a small flax wheel (traditionally used in the Dunlewey area) at the spring show in the RDS. She understood the important part women played in making a piece of homespun. Nine-tenths of the work was theirs. There could be good weaving and bad weaving, but it was the dying and spinning that made the real difference between good and bad homespun.
