Available in a choice of silver or 9ct gold, our sculptural Sadie pendant hangs on a strong yet fine 18inch long chain. (It can also be worn at a shorter length of 16inches). The angular silhouette of this pendant is formed in 1mm thick metal. We use contrasting matte and polished finishes to highlight the angular shape. Finished with our trademark, handmade clasp, each piece in our Homespun collection is named after a woman who was involved in The Country Shop:

The kitchen staff were very important in The Country Shop, keeping things running efficiently day to day. Sadie Quigley from Ringsend was the cake cook for forty-one years. During The Emergency (WWII in Ireland), Sadie remembered sleeping overnight in the kitchen, scared out of her wits. She stayed in order to catch ‘the glimmer’ (which was when they could use the rationed gas at 5am). This gave enough time to bake the scones and breads for the cafe which opened daily at 8am.

-The above information was attained from Geraldine Mitchell's book on the life and work of Muriel Gahan 'Deeds not Words'

Dimensions: The pendant piece measures 24mm in width x 12mm in height x 5mm thick. It hangs on a chain 18inches long. If your preference is for chunkier jewellery, we have a larger version of our Sadie necklace available here.
