Satisfyingly weighty, the Peggy pendant is a solid round silver form with has been altered to create a split level, offering a different aspect on either side, giving the wearer a choice of two options. As is characteristic of the collection, small features are highlighted by the contrasting matte and polished finishes. Hanging perfectly centered on an 18 inch anchor chain, the Peggy Pendant is also available in hard wearing 18ct gold plating.
Peggy Mc Donagh was an Aran knitter from Inis Mór. Muriel refused to sell any Aran jumper that had not been made on the islands, and that rule held until The Country Shop closed its doors in 1978. This meant that the women of Aran had a regular source of income, often knitting long into the night by paraffin lamp after a long day working in the fields, shore or in the home.
