The sloping shape of our Siobhán earrings is inspired by the rock formations of The Burren. It is a shape we have repeated throughout our Terrain collection, either in silhouette or solid form. Handcrafted in a choice of either sterling silver or 9ct gold*, these earrings are lightweight enough for everyday wear. We have added interest by polishing the profile and leaving the side matte. Each piece in our Terrain collection is named after an Irish maker or sculptor:
Belfast born sculptor Siobhán Hapaska explores issues of global politics and inequality in her works which are often undercut with a sense of humour. Hapaska manipulates & contorts her often unorthodox materials to create installations which embody a sense of balance and harmony.
Each earring measures: 17mm in length x 11mm in width (at the widest point) x 1.5mm thick
*The sterling silver and 9kt gold we use in our jewellery collections comes from a certified refiner of recycled precious metal in Germany. Dealing with their local agent here in Dublin, we order metal to our specifications (be that bullion for casting, bar or sheet) produced from smelted, pre loved jewellery and objects. Any metal ‘waste’ created during the making process is returned to our supplier to be recycled back into the process.
