Gorse is such a familiar shrub, seen all around the Irish countryside, with its spiny, prickly branches and bright yellow flowers. The thorny nature of the gorse bush provides excellent protection for birds and wildlife.

Martina's image of the blackbird on the Gorse bush is printed in a deep blue with just one spot of red for the berry that the bird holds in its beak. Screen printed on Irish linen as part of a series titled "Summer Walks" evoking memories of walking by wild hedgerows in the Irish countryside.

The print is one of an edition of 250, the image itself measures 15cm x 15cm in a white mount that measures 29.5cm x 29.5cm, it fits perfectly in our large square Rockerlane Workshop frames.
