Walls of Aran data-zoom=

A small format, beautiful hardback of photographs by Sean Scully documenting the stone walls found on the Aran Islands. Sean Scully is one of today’s best-loved abstract painters. His familiar signature style of lines or bands of colour, alluding to architectural elements such as portals, windows and walls, is one of the most instantly recognizable in contemporary painting. In this book, we can see the clear links between the paintings and the black and white photographs of the dry stone walls of Aran.

The accompanying text by Colm Tóibín recalls several of his own visits to the islands, including one trip to Inis Meáin to see Druid perform John Millington Synge's Riders to the Sea, for an audience of islanders.

A gorgeous book that transports you to these islands on the edge of Europe, a last rocky outpost before the vastness of the Atlantic. The perfect gift with our Duresy Fields whiskey tumbler and charcoal herringbone throw.

Dimensions: This book is in hardback format and measures 18.5cm x 17cm. It contains 127 pages with 73 illustrations.
