In the small village of Ardara in Co. Donegal, these timeless knee throws are handmade by master weaver Eddie Doherty. Featuring traditional Donegal tweed, a classic herringbone pattern, and their familiar multi-coloured flecks running through. Eddie designed these throws with outdoor dining in mind, making them the perfect size to cosy up on the sofa or for keeping warm in the garden. We love the fringe which features the many colours of the yarns which are handwoven to create each throw. Made in limited editions, each colourway is inspired by the Donegal landscape.
Eddie began weaving at the age of 16, and over six decades later he is one of the rare weavers in Ireland working on a handloom. The difference between synthetic machine-woven tweeds and natural, hand-woven fabric is indisputable. This is a throw that will last a lifetime and be handed down from generation to generation.
Dimensions: Each throw measures 115cm x 160cm (including fringe). 100% handwoven Donegal tweed, dry clean only.
