A solid, thoroughly tactile, hand-thrown bowl, made from local clay, dug from the Dublin Mountains, and glazed with an ice crackle glaze. Daniel takes the clay from the mountains and processes it to make it pliable. The labour-intensive process includes breaking down the clay, sieving it several times, washing it twice, drying it and finally kneading it. The clay retains a lot of rough particles giving it a very natural finish.
Each piece is totally unique and shows the marks of the process of being hand turned on the wheel, no two will be the same. Daniel finishes each piece with his personal Woodsmith logo.
Each bowl is slightly different measuring approx. 12 cm in diameter and 8 cm tall. While these pieces are all dishwasher and microwave safe, we do recommend hand washing with care.
