One of only two vertical mills left in Ireland, Cushendale was established in the 18th century. Situated in Graiguenamanagh , a town that is long associated with wool and textiles, the Cushen family have continued the tradition and techniques of their ancestors. As a material, wool is 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable. The fully traceable Irish wool begins with specially selected farmers from Galway to Wexford, their lambswool yarn from an English heritage spinning mill and the Mohair yarn comes from one supplier in Italy. All production takes place under the one roof, using small batch dyeing and production methods.
