Irish Flora Linoprint
The pear in paper

A beautiful, hand-pulled lino print by Donegal artist Lynn, aka The Pear in Paper. Each A4 print depicts a plant which is an endangered Irish species. Lynn aspires to make her company as sustainable as possible and uses water-based, non-toxic ink, prints on a heavyweight organic, acid-free card (300gsm) and packages each beautiful lino print in biodegradable, compostable packaging.
Yellow marsh saxifrage is an endangered native Irish plant. Once found in abundance throughout Europe but now only rarely found. In Ireland, the marsh saxifrage has been identified in County Antrim, Mayo and Sligo. The removal of peat, afforestation, overgrazing and drainage all contribute to this decline.
The meadow thistle is a very long and surprisingly delicate flower for a thistle! This plant is much loved by bees and other insects making them extremely important in the ecosystem.
Each A4 print measures (21cm x 29.7cm). Our rectangular A4 frame by rocker Lane workshop suits this print perfectly.
Our Story
Clare Grennan and Laura Caffrey established Irish Design Shop in 2008. A love of Irish craft and good design led these two jewellers to set up a retail space which offered customers both. Irish craft was witnessing a revival at this time, with a new breed of Irish designer/maker producing exciting, design-led products which embraced traditional and new techniques.
