Stemmed Glass

This cheerful stemmed glass is perfect for all your favourite drinks. Its vibrant, contrasting colours on the stem and base highlight the crystal-clear hand-blown glass. With a generous 300ml capacity, it’s just right for an Aperol Spritz or whatever drink tickles your fancy. 

The clear part of the piece is blown from molten glass taken from the furnace, while the coloured elements are dipped in coloured powdered glass, and then shaped and formed around the blown part.

Each glass is sold separately, so you can choose a matching pair or mix different colours to create a cheerful set. An amazing gift for a special occasion, paired with a matching carafe.

Dimensions: 15.5cm x 8.5cm (6" x 3")and holds about 300ml of liquid. As each piece is mouth-blown and hand-formed, sizes may vary slightly.

This collection was designed by Clare & Laura in collaboration with Rory in Jerpoint Glass. A two-day long visit to the hot-shop in Co. Kilkenny, experimenting with shapes and colours resulted in this bright, fun collection of drinkware. Rory is the second generation of the Leadbetter family to run the workshop next to Jerpoint Abbey. You can see some of the making process on our Instagram page.

For a  lifetime of enjoyment with your Jerpoint Glass, follow these simple care instructions.

1. Wash by hand in lukewarm water. We do not recommend Jerpoint for use in a dishwasher as the water is heated too rapidly which may cause thermal shock. Also dishwasher detergents can be very abrasive and damage your glass over time.
    
2. Avoid drip-drying or air-drying as this may leave a residue marks on the glass. For the best results polish your glass with a good-quality linen cloth.
    
3. Avoid rapid temperature change as it could cause thermal shock that may lead to a crack in your glass particularly jugs and tankards.
    
4. Always handle with care; a knock can cause a weakness in the glass that shows up as a crack long after an accident occurred.
