Irish Wildflower Greeting Cards
Each year, illustrator Sonia Caldwell works on a collection of watercolours to a theme inspired by her picturesque surroundings of West Cork. The resulting collections demonstrate her unique style, sensitivity and knowledge of her subject matter, in this case, Ireland's wildflowers.
Containing six cards depicting a different native wildflower species including Gorse, Dog-Violet, Bluebell, Dog-Rose, Yellow Iris and Honeysuckle, each card is blank inside for your own message and contains a short description of the species on the reverse.
Card dimensions: Printed on premium 350g paper, each card measures
12cm x 12cm. A pack contains 6 greeting cards with matching envelopes. Sonia has also produced a greeting card pack to the theme of native Irish trees, which is available to purchase here.
Kilcoe Studios, based in Skibbereen, West Cork, was founded in 2012 by Sonia Caldwell and Eamon Quinn, as a means to fund other artistic practices. Each card and calendar is the watercolour paintings of Sonia, as she explores the wildlife around her and the abundance of gardens and knowledge in the area.
Sonia primarily works with stone to create hand-chiseled bowls and vessels but over time the depth of our plant world became more and more fascinating to her. Now Kilcoe Studios depicts the extensive range of native Irish plants and trees and not only shares the beautiful watercolour images in the products but also shares wonderful facts and information from our heritage and folklore.
All packaging is recyclable and proudly plastic free. All card and paper that the cards and calendar are printed on are made from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper. Everything is printed locally by a family print business based in Cork City - City Print.
