Connaught Hide and Wool is a family run business, founded in 1986 in Sligo in the north-west of Ireland. Sourcing their hides from animals in the west of the country, they were originally treated locally until the Irish tannery trade came to an end. The Irish sheepskins are chemical and dye free, except for a small amount used on the skin during tanning the underside.
