Pacie Grews

Grace Austin aka Pacie Grews began her small craft business after returning home to Ireland during the pandemic in 2020.

A desire to create and to connect with others led her to making beautiful, tactile, textile items for the home using knotted cords to form macrame pot holders and wall hangings.

Sustainability:

Grace creates macrame with recycled, upcycled or entirely natural and biodegradable materials, with packaging that is minimal, plastic-free and fully recyclable.

Where possible opting for recycled cotton; which is made of waste fabric from the fashion industry, Grace disrupts its journey to landfill.
When recycled cotton isn’t suitable, Grace uses organic EU grown cotton, jute, raw linen or even salvaged fishing rope.
When the macrame requires a trim, offcuts are used to complete smaller projects, and smaller scraps are eventually composted. Where hardware is necessary, Grace always seeks a second hand option, before turning to a virgin material.

Our Story

Clare Grennan and Laura Caffrey established Irish Design Shop in 2008. A love of Irish craft and good design led these two jewellers to set up a retail space which offered customers both. Irish craft was witnessing a revival at this time, with a new breed of Irish designer/maker producing exciting, design-led products which embraced traditional and new techniques.
