Sea Tamagotchi is a very special handmade book by Redfox Press in collaboration with Manchán Magan. Beautifully handbound, this book seeks out forgotten sea words, maritime terms and coastal customs along the coast of Mayo, Donegal, and Galway.

Containing 38 sea words in Irish chosen by Manchán, this gorgeous book is peppered with drawings, collages and photographs by Antic-Ham.

Highlights include;
Caibleadh - Spirit voices heard in the distance at sea on calm nights.
Stopóg - shallow rocky seabed out beyond where the smaller seaweed grows. Rockfish and lobsters thrive here. Also a stump of cabbage. A slovenly woman.

Details: This book is digitally printed. Hardcover - Hand bound - Thread binding
Dimensions: 14cm x 19cm - 44 pages.
200 numbered copies.

Redfox Press is located in a small cottage overlooking the sea on Achill Island. Ham, along with her partner Francis specialise in screenprinting, photography, and artist book production.  Other publications include Dána Gránna and The Banshees of Inisherin on Achill Island.

Manchán Magan is a writer and documentary-maker. He has written books on his travels in Africa, India and South America and two novels. He has made dozens of documentaries on issues of world culture for TG4, RTÉ  & Travel Channel. He lives in an oak wood, with bees and hens, in a grass-roofed house near Lough Lene, Co Westmeath.
