Marie Howett

Marie Howett was a Belgian painter who made many visits to Achill Island from 1929 to 1968. Captivated by the rugged landscape, she rose at the crack of dawn daily to paint at the many scenic spots including Keem, Keel, Dooagh, Dugort, Slievemore and Corrymore. Her beautiful paintings give us a unique insight into life on Achill during this time. Written by Mary J.Murphy, this book is beautifully designed and hand bound by Francis and Ham in their own unique style. 

Produced in linited edition, a postcard sized print from a painting of the Slievemore Road in Dooagh is included in the book. Details: Hard cover, thread bound book containing 60 pages with colour illustrations throughout. Dimensions: 15.5cm x 20cm.
