This beautifully crafted stool by Studio Harris in Kerry, takes inspiration from traditional, rural fireside stools with panel sides. Each side panel has the traditional semi circle cutout, a gorgeous design detail which gives the stool balance. An integrated shelf gives added functionality. Each stool is expertly crafted in Irish hardwood. The seat of the stool is crafted from quartersawn oak (from wind fallen oak on the grounds of Dromoland Castle which is then kiln dried). The sides and shelf are crafted in Irish ash. Finished by hand in a hardwearing oil, each stool is so special and made to last a lifetime. Would also serve as a perfect bedside table. We styled the Fireside stool with our small willow skib, Irish linen table runner and ceramics by Mark Campden.

Dimensions:

Measures 45cm in length x 27.5cm in width x 37cm tall.

Wood is a natural material where the grain and colour varies and it will naturally age over time. Although the quality of wood means it is a long-lasting material and the aging process can add character compared to synthetic materials, it is still important to look after wood and to take care not to mistreat furniture and wooden products. The wood should be re-oiled on an occasional basis when signs of wear start to appear. OSMO clear matte 3062 is the sepcific oil used to finish this stool.
OSMO use carefully harvested natural oils (sunflower, soya, linseed and thistle oils) and hard waxes (carnauba and candelilla waxes) for its finishes.
