Fireside Stool
This beautifully crafted stool by Studio Harris in Kerry, takes inspiration from traditional, rural fireside stools with panel sides. Each side panel has the traditional semi circle cutout, a gorgeous design detail which gives the stool balance. An integrated shelf gives added functionality. Each stool is expertly crafted in Irish hardwood. The seat of the stool is crafted from quartersawn oak. The sides and shelf are crafted in Irish ash. Finished by hand in a hardwearing oil, each stool is so special and made to last a lifetime. Would also serve as a perfect bedside table. We styled the Fireside stool with our small willow skib, and an Irish linen table runner.
Dimensions: Measures 45cm in length x 27.5cm in width x 37cm tall.

Originally from Kerry, Studio Harris was established in 2020 by furniture designer Tricia Harris.
Tricia studied furniture and wood turning at the Furniture College in Letterfrack, Connemara. She spent years in academia, lecturing in Dublin and working as an external examiner in Letterfrack, but in the year of change 2020, she returned to Kerry.
Her designs are based on traditional Irish country furniture, utilising traditional skills to produce each solid wooden stool.
"Less but better, a mantra to create and live by!"
All wood is sourced from wind felled trees on the grounds of Dromoland Castle, Co. Clare, which are then kiln-dried.
Wood is a natural material where the grain and colour varies and it will naturally age over time. Although the quality of wood means it is a long-lasting material and the aging process can add character compared to synthetic materials, it is still important to look after wood and to take care not to mistreat furniture and wooden products. The wood should be re-oiled on an occasional basis when signs of wear start to appear.
Since 2020, Studio Harris has pledged to plant 100 trees per year with the intention of increasing this amount in the future, and has affiliations with an assortment of organisations including Reforest Nation, IWFMN and the Eco Packaging Alliance.
