These earrings create impact while remaining lightweight and comfortable to wear. Formed in fine square wire, the polished elements reflect light and compliment the matte finish. The appeal of the circular shape is a constant theme in each Names Dublin jewellery collection. It is a classic shape that perfectly suits an earring. The Kitty earrings have a tactile quality that comes from the subtle movement while they are being worn. Available in sterling silver and 9ct yellow gold, each piece of jewellery within our Homespun collection is named after a woman who was involved in The Country Shop:

Always eager to source good quality homespun fabrics for the Country Shop, Muriel located one Kitty MacCormack in Donegal who was involved in the 'Donegal Trust' which financed apprenticeships in spinning and weaving in northwest Donegal. Wool was one of the most abundant raw materials in Ireland at the time and the trust funded the training of women and girls in spinning and weaving to create employment for them in this isolated area while encouraging the preservation of the traditional craft.

-The above information was attained from Geraldine Mitchell's book on the life and work of Muriel Gahan 'Deeds not Words'

Each earring measures 2.5cm in diameter, hanging off a 4mm circular stud If your preference is for chunkier jewellery, we have a larger version of our Kitty earrings available here.
