Linen Table Runner
A decent-sized Irish linen table runner which will run the length of any dinner table. Available in a choice of four earthy colours, chosen for how they complement each other beautifully and for their suitability throughout the seasons. This linen is woven in Wexford by master weavers Emblem who are synonymous with linen production.
Measuring 48cm in width x 200cm in length, this linen runner is naturally hard-wearing and fast-drying, ensuring it will last a lifetime. Gorgeous to use and dresses up your table setting perfectly, we used this runner a lot on a recent shoot. Make an occasion out of mid-week dinner, don't just save your table linen for dinner parties!
Care: To care for your table linen, wash at 30 degrees and steam iron while damp for a crisp finish.
Jim Conway established Emblem Weavers in 1962, at the age of 21. Using secondhand looms, based in a basement on Amien Street in Dublin, Jim purchased some yarn and wove his first wool samples. Initially he sold door to door, and but eventually rapidly expanded to department stores.
In 1981, Jim invested in modern looms and began to weave colour woven Irish linen. It was an instant success internationally. Jim expanded Emblem Weavers and moved to Wexford, in the South East of Ireland.
Jim's love for working with linen yarn and producing some of the finest linen fabrics meant that Irish Linen became their main production fabric.
Today, Emblem Weavers is very much a family affair with two of Jim’s nine children, Seamus and Stephen directly engaged in the running of the business.
To care for linen, wash it in lukewarm or cold water using a mild detergent, and avoid bleach or fabric softeners. For drying, air drying is recommended, but you can also tumble dry on low heat; iron while damp for best results.
