Handled Oven Dish
A wheelthrown, stoneware dish with long, elegant handle that feels so lovely in the hand. We approached Dan of Araucaria to create a practical and timeless range of stoneware, kitchen essentials that are loved and used daily. This dish is perfect for baking eggs or roasting veg. It is the perfect size for cooking for one or two, and was inspired by speedy mid-week shove-in-the-oven dinners of leftover veg in the fridge.
The easy-grip handle makes this dish easy to move around, from oven to tabletop. Expertly crafted, the stoneware clay maintains even temperature in the oven and is exceptionally strong and durable. Choose between two earthy glazes of either sand or linen. Each dish is finished beautifully with the maker's mark on the base.
Measuring 15cm in diameter, 5cm deep, and the handle is 11cm long. This dish is microwave-proof and dishwasher safe, but hand washing with care is recommended.Situated in the Dublin Mountains, Aruacaria Ceramics was established by Daniel Woodsmith, a self-taught potter. Originally a chef, Daniel turned from plating food to creating tableware in 2017.
Each piece is handthrown using stoneware clay as well as local, hand-dug, Irish clay, and are fired in an electric or raku kiln.
Using a minimalist approach, each piece allows the food to be the centre of attention.
All products are microwave proof and dishwasher safe but hand washing with care is recommended.
Dishes are oven safe, however it is recommended, like all ceramic, to not go directly from fridge / freezer to oven, to prevent thermal shock and cracking.
