We have used this sloping geometric shape across our Terrain collection. Inspired by the rock formations of The Burren, the shape is adapted for our Eilis stud earrings which are handcrafted in a choice of either solid silver or 9kt gold.* Two finishes are available in this design. For the matte option, we have polished the sides. The opposite is the case for the polished option, whereby we have left the sides matte and polished the front. Each piece of jewellery in our Terrain collection is named after an Irish maker or sculptor:
Derry born abstract sculptor Eilis O’Connell has built her reputation through public commissions for large-scale works. Working predominantly in metal, O’Connell is influenced by architecture and geometry. In 2018 her sculptures were shown at E1027, the home designed by Eileen Grey in Cap Martin, France.
Each Eilis stud measures 10mm in length x 6mm in width x 3.5mm at the deepest point.
*The sterling silver and 9kt gold we use in our jewellery collections comes from a certified refiner of recycled precious metal in Germany. Dealing with their local agent here in Dublin, we order metal to our specifications (be that bullion for casting, bar or sheet) produced from smelted, pre loved jewellery and objects. Any metal ‘waste’ created during the making process is returned to our supplier to be recycled back into the process.
