Forty Foot 01

Home Water is a collection of photographic prints featuring some of our favourite swim spots around Dublin. This is the fourth edition of the collection created by Niall Meehan of Sea Studio exclusively for Irish Design Shop, each photograph is taken from the sea by the avid sea swimmer.

At one time, the Forty Foot bathing pool was for men only, now it is one of Dublin's most popular swimming spots for all locals and visitors alike all year round. The concrete wind shelters of the Forty Foot are perched on an impressive rock outcrop reaching into the bay.

Each print is an edition of 50, signed and numbered by Niall on A3 Hannemühle 308gm, 100% cotton paper, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Frame not included.

Niall Meehan is a photographer and avid sea swimmer, and established Sea Studio in 2019, to share his love of the ocean. Originally from Sandycove, Co. Dublin, he now lives in Wicklow, where he can enjoy the brisk Irish Sea every day.

Niall has been swimming his whole life, from Dún Laoghaire Sea Baths to Sandycove Harbour and the iconic Forty Foot. His love of sea swimming and of image-making have become one. As everyday in the sea is so different, his aim is to make an image that foxes a moment of the sea in time, a reminder of how it feels to be alive.

Each print is limited edition giclée print, which is signed and numbered by the artist. Photographs are printed on museum-grade, Hannahmühle photo rag 308g/m² 100% cotton paper. The smooth surface texture, with its special touch and feel of genuine art paper, guarantees archival standards.
