Created by Lorcan and Nia in Dublin, Saegul candles not only smell incredible, but they are also full of character, with each scent bearing a beautiful illustration by this creative duo. Inspired by places they have visited and love, these candles make a fab gift. 

"Unlike our other scents, this one is not inspired by any particular place. It’s about love. Love, that has been evenly spread across this beautiful isle for centuries by our ancestors who sure were wiser than us when it came to “tying the knot”. In the Celtic ritual of handfasting, couples bound themselves for a year and one day. On day 366, an honest choice was to be made by both, whether to stay together or craic on with their lives separately, no shame for either. Saegul was founded by Lorcan and Nia, who both live in Co. Dublin and spend most weekends hiking or exploring further afield. They have both always wanted to create something special, and one day on one of their hikes (most likely in Kerry on St. Stephen’s Day), they decided: candles it is. 

Weeks after that, in Cavan, upon seeing the three-headed Corleck head (for some weird reason), they knew what the concept would be -  for every candle they create to be inspired by a place they explore, a curious tradition they read about, or anything inspiring they find on their travels around Ireland.

Candles-with-a-story! Each candle has a beautiful fragrance that, we hope, will teleport you to The Place they have in mind. Lorcan and Nia design and create illustrations for all their candles and add a few words to help you get into the mood.
