Irish Mythology Doll
A handmade doll inspired by an important Irish figure from history and mythology. Created by the creative dynamos at the We Make Good textile studio in Dublin city centre, each adorable figure is made using natural and upcycled materials
"Similar to the wildlife toys, we noticed a complete dearth of Irish culture represented in toys available. So we have developed three handmade dolls with accessories based on our much-loved figures from Irish history and mythology. Each doll comes with a swing tag telling a brief story of each"- Sarah, We Make Good.
Meet the trio.
Cú Chulainn, the legendary Irish warrior, the Hound of Culann, who's is a story of courage and protecting those who need it.
Brigid, goddess of fire, healing, spring and the rising of feminine energy which is a story of warmth, resilience, and new beginnings.
Selkie inspired by Irish and Scottish folklore, a story of identity, freedom, and protecting your wild self.
Each doll comes with a short story card, sharing their tale in a way that's easy for children to read and enjoy. Suitable for children under 3. Each figure comes with small accessories. Materials used in each construction include wool, linen and felt.
We Make Good is a Dublin 1–based social enterprise founded in 2018 by the charity Quality Matters. It designs and sells handmade crafts and textiles created by people from marginalised backgrounds, including refugees, people with disabilities, and those rebuilding life after prison.
The organisation provides training and employment opportunities that empower individuals to build brighter futures, while promoting sustainability and Irish design through eco-friendly practices and collaborations with top local designers.
Their products are crafted using natural, sustainable materials such as Irish linen, reducing reliance on single-use plastics and designed with longevity in mind.
