Kelp Paperweight
The stem-like colours inside this glass paperweight remind us of pieces of seaweed floating underwater. Each one is a little different, with its own unique patterns and sometimes tiny bubbles trapped inside. It’s a fun, tactile piece that brings a splash of ocean magic to your desk.
The paperweight is created using molten glass that is dipped in the glass colour and shaped with special glass making tools before being dipped back into the molten glass furnace and permanently encased in an outer layer of glass. The hand-making process means that each piece is individually made and therefore unique.

Mouth-blown, handmade, & hand-finished glassware, that's what sets Jerpoint Glassware apart from other studios. Established by Keith & Kathleen Leadbetter in 1979, this family-run glassblowing studio is based in Stoneyford, Co. Kilkenny, and continues to grow and expand with their son, Rory. Not just beautiful and stylish they are also versatile and ideal to add a splash of colour to a table.
For a lifetime of enjoyment with your Jerpoint Glass, follow these simple care instructions.
- Wash by hand in lukewarm water. We do not recommend Jerpoint for use in a dishwasher as the water is heated too rapidly which may cause thermal shock. Also dishwasher detergents can be very abrasive and damage your glass over time.
- Avoid drip-drying or air-drying as this may leave a residue marks on the glass. For the best results polish your glass with a good-quality linen cloth.
- Avoid rapid temperature change as it could cause thermal shock that may lead to a crack in your glass particularly jugs and tankards.
- Always handle with care; a knock can cause a weakness in the glass that shows up as a crack long after an accident occurred.
