These earrings create impact while remaining lightweight and comfortable to wear. Formed in 2mm square silver wire, the polished elements reflect light and complement the matte finish. Our take on a classic hoop, the Kitty earrings have a tactile quality that comes from the subtle movement while they are being worn. Also available in hard-wearing, 18ct gold-plated silver. If your preference is for a smaller earring, we have created Kitty in miniature, available here.

Names Jewellery began as a side project for the founders of Irish Design Shop; Clare and Laura. It has grown to be an integral part of the business, branching into an independent studio space on neighboring Exchequer Street. Each piece of jewellery, crafted by hand, is named after a woman who inspires Clare and Laura, be they family members, disrupters, or fellow makers. Kitty MacCormack was a Donegal weaver and part of Muriel Gahan's cooperative movement of the 1930's.

Each earring measures 45mm in diameter, with the attached stud being 6mm in diameter.

Our Story

Clare Grennan and Laura Caffrey established Irish Design Shop in 2008. A love of Irish craft and good design led these two jewellers to set up a retail space which offered customers both. Irish craft was witnessing a revival at this time, with a new breed of Irish designer/maker producing exciting, design-led products which embraced traditional and new techniques.
