Make Hummus not War
All profits from the sale of this print will go to World Central Kitchen to support their work providing meals in Gaza.
Ní saoirse go saoirse don Phalaistín
We had been thinking of a product we could sell in aid of a charity working on the ground in Gaza, and then this print popped up online, perfect! An original three-colour riso print, designed exclusively by JANDO for Blasta Books. Inspired by Jibrin authors Izzeddeen Alkarajeh and Eman Aburabi, and the original version of the Free Palestine mural painted next to their Izz Café in Cork City. The mural included the line ‘make hummus, not war’, but that part had to be painted over.
"At Blasta Books, we believe that the two things that connect everyone, everywhere, are food and stories. Food and stories are what we all have in common, no matter who we are or where we’re from."
This print serves as a reminder that when we sit down together to share food at the table, we can find points of connection and commonality.
Available in a choice of either A3 or A4, each is printed on Munken Polar 240gsm paper, it's protected by a sturdy, wood-free backing board made from ECF (elemental chlorine free) pulp, and is housed in a clear protective sleeve made from corn starch that is completely biodegradable.
