Irish linen Placemats

Handcrafted with care in Modh's Dublin studio, this set of 2 placemats features delicate floral prints from flowers lovingly grown from seed in their dye garden in the current year, paired with the graceful imprints of weeping willow leaves, foraged from the historic canals of Dublin City.

Each placemat measures: 41cm x 33cm

Care Instructions
Please keep in mind that a little more care and attention is required for keeping your naturally dyed product looking its best. Consider airing over washing and if laundering is required, do so as infrequently as possible. Hand-wash in cold water using a pH neutral eco friendly detergent, such as Ecover. Hang to dry out of direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry and do not dry clean.

You may notice some ‘inconsistencies’ in the colours of the plant-dyed products. When using natural dyes, we must embrace the idea that nothing in nature is perfect and enjoy these unique and characterful ’imperfections.’ All pigments, including synthetic, fade over time.

Modh is a a sustainable Irish textile brand founded by award winning designer Alison Nea, based in Killiney, Co. Dublin.

Alison studied Design for Stage and Screen in IADT in Dun Laoghaire, graduating in 2020. She worked on high profile productions but her desire to explore her creativity in a more meaningful way lead to her establishing Modh in 2021.

Modh's designes are inspired by nature and rooted in traditional Irish craft techniques. Alison specialises in eco-printing and natural dyeing, using foraged flowers and leaves to create intricate patterns on Irish linen.
