Naneen Pendant
The smallest of our pendants, Naneen takes the form of a solid half-circle form. Hanging on an 18" anchor chain, a custom-made clasp with the stamped Names logo completes the necklace. Available in a choice of solid silver, gold plated silver or solid 9ct gold.
This necklace is named after Naneen Mhicilín, who was an Aran Island crios (belt) maker and part of Muriel Gahan's cooperative movement of the 1930's.
The Naneen pendant measures 15mm in width x 7mm in height x 5mm in depth.
Names Jewellery began as a side project for the founders of Irish Design Shop; Clare and Laura. It has grown to be an integral part of the business, branching into an independent studio space on neighboring Exchequer Street. Each piece of jewellery, crafted by hand, is named after a woman who inspires Clare and Laura, be they family members, disrupters, or fellow makers.
Each necklace made in silver and 9 ct gold is hallmarked in the Dublin Assay office, located a short stroll from our workshop in historic Dublin Castle. The stamps include our unique makers mark of CGD followed by the unique Dublin marks.
Below, you will find our suggestions for jewellery pieces that best compliment these necklaces.
Each piece of jewellery is crafted by hand in our neighbouring workshop. We carefully source our raw materials from respected suppliers here in Dublin and use all recycled silver and gold. All waste material generated in the making process goes back to our supplier as scrap metal. Each batch of finished jewellery is hand delivered to our Drury Street shop.
