Peggy Pendant
Satisfyingly weighty, the Peggy pendant is a solid round form that has been crafted by hand and hangs, perfectly centered on an 18-inch anchor chain. Available in a choice of solid silver, gold plated silver or solid 9ct gold, the Peggy is always a popular choice for those gifting our jewellery.
This necklace is named after Peggy McDonagh, who was an Aran knitter from Inis Mór and was part of Muriel Gahan's cooperative movement of the 1930's.
The pendant measures 13mm in diameter x 5mm in depth. It hangs on an 18inch anchor chain.
Names Jewellery began as a side project for the founders of Irish Design Shop; Clare and Laura. It has grown to be an integral part of the business, branching into an independent studio space on neighboring Exchequer Street. Each piece of jewellery, crafted by hand, is named after a woman who inspires Clare and Laura, be they family members, disrupters, or fellow makers.
Lineage is the core collection which shapes the foundation of the Names brand. Beautiful, uncluttered, and versatile jewellery inspired by the angular geometry found in the Irish landscape.
The names derive from the people who inspire us, whether they are family members, disruptors, or fellow makers and visual artists. We believe that jewellery goes beyond the physical form - it is a sentiment of value we give to one another and hand down through generations.
Each piece of jewellery is crafted by hand in our neighbouring workshop. We carefully source our raw materials from respected suppliers here in Dublin and use all recycled silver and gold. All waste material generated in the making process goes back to our supplier as scrap metal. Gold plating is carried out in the neighbouring county Kildare, keeping our carbon footprint to a minimum.
