Salt Scoop
A salt scoop formed in Irish hardwood originating from locally sourced, wind-felled trees near Eoghan's home in Co.Kilkenny.
Turned on the lathe, each unique scoop is finished in food-safe oil and a cord to display your scoop, perfectly paired with our Aras Salt pots & dingle sea salt packets, an essential accompaniment for every kitchen.
Eoghan's scoops are present with our Aras card and a card of his own, informing you on the wood used which varies from ash, oak, alder or beech. There will be slight grain or colour differences between the woods, ash tends to be lighter than oak for example.
To keep this product looking its best we recommend an occasional wipe using a food-safe oil such as linseed. The handle is 10cm long and the scoop is 2.5cm wide
Eoghan Leadbetter is an Irish wood turner based in Stoneyford, Co.Kilkenny, creating Irish hardwood products from locally sourced wind felled trees. Each piece is hand-turned on the lathe, smoothed and sanded by Eoghan by hand. Having grown up in the family-run Jerpoint Glass Studio, Eoghan is no stranger to crafts, and found his passion in woodturning.
The wood is locally sourced from wind-felled trees, or from tree surgeons that have removed dangerous trees due to storm damage. Eoghan utilises every bit of the tree and nothing goes to waste. He uses large slabs of wood for bowls, and any off cuts for salt & coffee scoops, even wood shavings get used to make compost for his vegetable garden.
Each product is packaged in recyclable cardboard.
