Clare Grennan and Laura Caffrey
Established in 2008 by two jewellers, Clare Grennan and Laura Caffrey, Irish Design Shop is a small business that prides itself on promoting the work of some of Ireland’s most exciting designer-makers.
Trading both online and from a brick-and-mortar shop in Dublin city centre, an emphasis is placed on original design and craftsmanship. Offering the very best in jewellery, textiles, ceramics, woodwork, glass, print and gifts over two floors.
Central to the first-floor space, there is a functioning jeweller's workbench where customers can see work in production. Established and emerging makers are represented across both shop floors, the common thread being a passion for the handmade, and an appreciation for Irish heritage crafts.

We approached Janet of Jupiter Red in early 2024 to commission a series of beautiful screen-printed, Irish linen tea towels inspired by our coastline. Months of research and development later, we have 2 unique patterns screen printed in a choice of colour combinations inspired by the sea. The first features one of our endangered coastline bird species; The Curlew, foraging on the seashore. The second features a pattern of seaweed in a beautiful gradient of colour.
Exclusive to Irish Design Shop, these durable tea towels will add a splash of coastal colour to your kitchen. Each is screen-printed on 100% Irish linen by Janet in Northern Ireland. The colourful patterns are printed on a choice of either teal, aqua or oatmeal linen. Pair with our ceramic salt pot and Dingle sea salt for the ultimate seaside-themed gift.
Details and Care: Available in two different coastal patterns, each towel measures approx 45cm x 60cm and features a hanging loop. Linen can be washed at high temperatures, these tea towels should be washed at 40 degrees. Do not tumble dry, drip dry for best results.
